Episode Synopsis: MENTAL “Life & Limb/Bad Moon Rising” Episode 12 and 13 – When factory worker Brian Jennings is admitted to Wharton Memorial with a few chopped off fingers, Arturo and Chloe believe they can be re-attached. However, after he refuses any type of surgery, his boss claims that Brian has purposely cut off his fingers to collect disability payments for the rest of his life. The doctors are soon left questioning the true motives for his dismemberment when an even darker secret is discovered at Brian’s apartment. Meanwhile, when Nora assigns Veronica to Jack’s sister, Becky’s, case, Jack argues with his colleagues and his parents about the course of her treatment. When Becky tells Jack she’s moving to Florida to a facility near their parents, he struggles with the decision to keep his sister close or to let her go. Meanwhile, when Ellis Kahane tries to check himself into the psych ward at Wharton Memorial claiming to be a werewolf that will transform at the next full moon, Carl turns him away. Things take a dangerous turn when Ellis takes the entire team hostage to prove to them his transformation will take place when the sun goes down. As Wharton is faced with serious budget deficits, Nora struggles in her attempts to find proper funding for the hospital, and is forced to make a difficult decision when given a tempting offer. Also, Jack speaks with a surprising therapist regarding his recent troubles in the “Life & Limb/Bad Moon Rising” two-hour season finale episode of MENTAL airing Friday, Aug. 14 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Guest Cast: Amanda Douge as Becky Gallagher; Alex Weed as Brian Jennings; Samantha Eggar as Margo Stroud; Madison Mason as James Stroud; Ellen Crawford as Andrea Jennings; Michael Durrell as Alan Jennings; Brian Howe as Bob Escamilla; Patrick Y. Malone as Julio; Michelle Krusiec as Dr. Aimee Lin; Brando Eaton as Gabe; Joseph D. Reitman as Ellis Kahane; Lex Medlin as Thom Hygard; Laura Johnson as Georgia Riede

Bad Moon Rising (Or, Part II of final episode):

Funny werewolf man:

[A man wants to check himself into the ward]
Werewolf man: Look, I’m running out of time. I need to be locked up.
Guy Employee: Unfortunately Mr. Cane we are not accepting any new patients prior to the shut down. If you have your therapist call me I promise you [interrupted]
Werewolf: [in really scary deep voice] Moonrise is less than two hours from now!

The whole thing with New Boss talking to himself throughout the episode was so strange, it ruined the episode so much for me. It was so bad when they didn’t show New Boss’s shrink and then when they did, they made it seem like everyone wouldn’t have recognized his voice before and already knew who he was talking to, they even had a funny sound effect as they showed him.

I felt sorry for Woman Boss, must have been so stressful for her. I didn’t like the meeting with Annoying Boss’s twin; get’s all the money they need if she fires New Boss. I really don’t like the Annoying Boss’s twin, what makes it worse is that he is probably based on a herd of people just like him, all working in the pharmaceutical industry.

Apparently a lot of psych wards are closing down, all over the place, I hope that changes, such places are something that is needed in the society. Good thing is that people become more and more aware of mental disorders nowadays, so maybe the trend will change. I like Mental because of that, that it gives awareness.

The hostage situation was brilliant; I love how all the shrinks came together and helped the werewolf man, it was like group therapy but in reverse. It was scary, charming and funny. I liked how New Boss stepped up and talked to the man whereas Annoying Boss was hiding behind the bureau. It was scary when Guy Employee got shot; it really stirred things up, yey. More exciting though was when Guy Employee told everyone about the blackmailing.

Annoying Boss: You guys, we can’t just sit here and do nothing.
Woman employee: Well what do you suggest?
Annoying Boss: Why don’t you women, I don’t know, stage a distraction of some kind of emotional breakdown or cry or something? Look, ones he is distracted Arturo can jump him.
Guy Employee: Why me?
Annoying Boss: Because you’re younger and you’re faster.
Women Employee: And what will you be doing?
Annoying Boss: I came up with the plan.

New Boss is freaky, he voluntarily get’s bitten by a man he doesn’t even know! (Not that it would be less wrong if he asks if he can get bitten by somebody he actually knows …)

There was a nice little scene that tied together the season and that was when Woman Boss and Woman Employee discussed if New Boss should be let go or not and Woman Employee says she doesn’t want him to quit, that’s nice cause there was almost an exact scene in the beginning of the season when Woman Employee wants to quit if New Boss remains on the ward. Nicely written.

The best part in the scene is of course though when New Boss hits Annoying Boss! I wish there had been a camera filming me watching that scene, my eyes went wide and I stopped breathing for a second and then the second later I just went “Yes!!!” and made that wonderful universal body language sign for the word “score”.

Wayne Rooney.

Then I got less enthusiastic when the good guys lost and the evil Annoying Boss won…

I have to say that it was a little bleak for being a series finale. I even had a problem with the end scene, I liked the ending with New boss with the guitar on the square, but, where did he get the dog from, why was it there, not necessary right?

Nobody knows if Mental will continue after this or if this was the end but many signs as well as my own gut says we have seen the last of New Boss and the rest of the gang.

I am going to say that I won’t really miss it, a clue that I didn’t feel very strongly about the show is that I haven’t even bothered to learn any of the characters names… I only feel happy about the show ending, not because it was completely awful but because now we are getting really close to the fall season when the proper shows starts!

We have arrived at the final two episodes; they are not related, a “two part” so to speak but they aired together, why? It’s Fox, you don’t know why they do what they do. I split them up, call me crazy.

Life&Limb:

Throughout the episodes we get to see more of that funny dynamic between Girl Employee and Guy Employee, I’m going to miss them a little bit.

I can relate to the one armed patient and his fear of surgery, just hospitals are bad for me, I always feel like I am going to catch something when I go to a hospital, I think it’s that special smell that only hospitals have.

There was lovely acting between the two playing New Boss and Becky, lovely.

I felt bad for them though in the scene where they stand on their hands against the wall, shooting much have been a bitch if there were retakes.

Becky looked normal there for a while in the beginning of the first episode, happy and all but it was just a trick, a false alarm, she’s still crazy. I feel so sorry for Becky… Generally she seems to have more control over her disease which is good.

By the way, in the end of the episode, why does she get in to a wheelchair to go the short distance out of the lobby on to the street outside? I mean, she can walk…

Annoying boss was very funny in this one and also kind of smart, I have to give him that. Then of course he goes back to being the evil stiff he is when he finally doesn’t get his way.

Annoying Boss being smart:

Annoying Boss: Well, there’s one sure way to find out. People in this country they don’t even get tattoos unless their drunk.
Guy & Girl Employee: [stupid stare]
Annoying Boss: Tox report! If he woke up this morning and decided to frame his boss by cutting his fingers off he probably took something right before, for handling the pain.

Annoying Boss: Hey, why two fingers? I mean if you’re planning it, why not just the one, yeah?

Annoying Boss being funny:

[New Boss uses Annoying Boss’s back for support when signing a paper.]
Annoying Boss: [sort of scared] That’s my…euhm… suit.

There was a lot of tension between New Boss and everyone else, somehow that made the episode better.

New Boss is so mean to his stepdad; he just doesn’t want to see that he is a nice guy.
New Boss if anyone should know to look at the psychology behind his action and see that he did what he thought was right and that he really loves New Boss and Becky.

Beautiful when New Boss hugs the stepdad, that was a pretty moment.

Okay, so why would you want to cut off a body part? I can’t seem to make myself understand “Body Integrity Identity Disorder”, I can’t relate to it, I tried but failed, I still think it’s extremely strange and out of this world. How did New Boss figure out that he had that weird decease anyhow? I was for once, and the only time on Annoying Boss’s side , I would have tried to get the guy to put his hand back on.

After four years of trying to track her down, Jack is reunited with his estranged schizophrenic sister, Becky, and quickly makes her treatment his No. 1 priority. Things prove to be more difficult than expected when another family member arrives and offers unsolicited advice. As Jack tries to help his sister, Veronica enlists his help with Clay, an Iraq War veteran who was committed after he shot himself in the hand in front of his wife and son. As Clay continues to suffer from both amnesia and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Jack struggles to help him remember the details of the wartime attack that left him traumatized. Meanwhile, Jack’s own family ties provide unexpected insight into Clay’s situation as well as his own life in the “Lines in the Sand” episode of MENTAL airing Friday, Aug. 7 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (MEN-111) (TV-14 V)

Guest Cast: Warren Kole as Rylan Moore; Amanda Dogue as Becky Gallagher; Arlen Escarpeta as Lt. Clay Jefferson; Samantha Eggar as Margo Stroud; Madison Mason as James Stroud; Glenn Morshower as Major Arlen Rawlins; Tessa Thompson as Lainey Jefferson; Stephen Monroe Taylor as PFC Moon; Brando Eaton as Gabe

It wasn’t a dream! Yey! I am so happy for him!
And for her! She doesn’t have to live on the streets anymore!

Sad for the wife, must have been so terrifying having her husband hold a gun aimed at her and their son!

Their kid is so cute! Look at those eyes, his little body and his little hands, naaw…

Great chemistry between New Boss and Becky.

When Woman Employee asks for help with the case and New Boss seems so very pleased with
himself I started laughing.

Cool model! It looks so real, I wish I could do something like that, I mean look at the buildings!

The sound is really terrible in this episode, why, and aren’t we all amazed that it could get worse then
in all the prior episodes?

New Boss has a beautiful mother and a handsome stepfather; they seem like awfully nice people!

What hatred towards his stepfather! New Boss’s Achilles heel I suppose, he has almost
been a cartoon superhero throughout the show but here we get to see him as a human and I think
we needed a bit of depth in him. I think you can appreciate a character’s ups more if you know
their downs.

Nice how Woman Boss worries for New Boss, She’s like the mother hen in their office, watching over all of her chicks.

I am amazed how New Boss can get rapport with all of his patients so damn quickly, they meet him and just
start talking about their inner most feelings immediately.

Ohh, btw: It’s Sam from American Dreams that is the patient of this episode! I loved that show, it was really quite good.

Ha-ha priceless expression on Woman Boss when they carry in the model!

When Sam get’s his memory back, was one of my favorite moments on Mental. Firstly it was
a nice war set they had built, not Saving Private Ryan but still good!
Also greatly written, moving, thrilling, and brilliant! Just incredible!

Jack and Carl take on the case of Billy Bauer, a construction worker suffering from physiological and psychological symptoms following an on-the-job accident. As Jack investigates the circumstances surrounding Billy’s accident, he discovers Billy’s memory of the event and reality of the event are completely different, though his symptoms resonate with a more severe incident that occurred on the same site over 100 years prior. As Jack and Carl spar over Billy’s diagnosis, Veronica and Rylan’s relationship is jeopardized when Rylan makes a questionable decision on the job. Meanwhile, Jack continues to search for his missing sister and the lines between dreams and reality are blurred in the “Do Over” episode of MENTAL airing Friday, July 31 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (MEN-110) (TV-14 L, S)

Guest Cast: Trevor Morgan as Billy Bauer; Brett Rickaby as Ethan Calloway; Amanda Douge as Becky Gallagher; Billy Mayo as Quentin Morris; Christopher Grove as Dr. Ira Greenbaum; David Parker as Tom Hurst; Sarah Jaye as Annie Jastrow; K Callan as Alexis Vilcek; Bahni Turpin as Louisa Knox

Poor man, Ethan, Woman Employee’s patient in this episode. So lost, clutching that radio, how do you get so obsessed with one thing, that you let everything else go?

Don’t we all know somebody like that? Not in the crazy way that Ethan is but on a smaller scale. You know “No, I just have to check Facebook, one second, somebody might have updated! I don’t care that there is a murderer in our living room, I have to check Facebook first!”.

Even if you don’t know someone obsessed with a social networking site or similar to that (although highly unlikely, considering today’s society) think of when a person falls in love and they spend all of their time with that person, just letting everything else go.

That behavior is completely accepted and understood amongst us normal people, but if you think about it, it isn’t that great a leap between falling in love, being addicted, to anything really and not being able to let go of a radio.

Maybe it was because of the easiness of using Ethan as a metaphor for contemporary phenomenon that caused me to be really emotional when he went home, I almost started crying when he talked to Woman Employee as he left.

I felt it was great that ER guy packed up and left, very brave thing to do. Concerning his relationship with Woman Employee I think he will be way better off with somebody else, he was the other man, he deserves to be the first and only man for somebody.

We finally get to see the sister and I think it was an excellent choice of actress, she is perfect, couldn’t have been better picked.

I enjoyed the battle between Annoying boss and New Boss. It was like they were comparing and competing over who has the best of a curtain body part. Yes I mean the brain (not really…more south).

I liked that New Boss stood up for himself and threatened Annoying Boss for a change.

Annoying Boss has a family? Wife and two daughters, I feel really bad for them, poor, poor people.

The main story line was not too good and not too bad so I think I will forget about this episode really quickly. I do know that the sequence of the dream where he looks in the water barrel was creepy, horror film, creepy.

Another thing I can say is that I was surprised they all sort of believed in reincarnation, they are suppose to be scientists, doctors, academics and they secretly agree upon the problem being the boy’s past life was sipping threw in to his present life?

I can also say that I liked that there was some detective work in this episode, I like it when that happens on this show.

It was also scary that you can bleed so much with the cause being your mind.

And finally: Awesome old lady!!

Dum, dum, dum: cliffhanger! Is New Boss dreaming or is his sister really there? Good cliffhanger! I realized also in that scene that I like his apartment, don’t know why I haven’t noticed that before.

After a drug dealer is shot and killed in his own apartment, the only witness to the murder is the dealer’s autistic teenage daughter, Leeza Wilson (guest star Holliston Coleman). While the detectives struggle to obtain any helpful evidence from Leeza, Jack uses his unconventional methods to uncover new clues from Leeza’s statements. However, when the detectives bring forth a subpoena to move Leeza out of Wharton Memorial, Jack is forced to race against time to solve the murder mystery. Meanwhile, Arturo deals with a visit from his eccentric, know-it-all father (guest star Steven Bauer), who is convinced his experiences playing a doctor on a soap opera will help him solve a real medical case in the “Coda” episode of MENTAL airing Friday, July 24 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (MEN-109) (TV-14 V)

Guest Cast: Jamie Ray Newman as Zan Avidan; Holliston Coleman as Leeza Wilson; Steven Bauer as Diego Suarez; Patrick St. Esprit as Lieutenant Truitt; Christopher B. Duncan as Detective Paul Bagdonis; Barbara Eve Harris as Eileen Burditt; Elena Arvigo as Sofia; Tracey Adams as Agusta Browley; Maureen Muldoon as April Wilson

It seems to go quite well in the beginning of the episode for New Boss and Dr. Angry, he appears somewhat frightened however when Dr. Angry tries to commit to the relationship. When they break up in the end of the episode I am on Dr. Angry’s side. He treats her badly and he tries to make her stay even though he knows that she wants more than he can give her. Shame on him!

I realized I don’t know a lot about autism, there seems to be different types of autism. I have never seen the repeating of words like that before and also I didn’t know the number of people born with autism is increasing. I should read up on autism, shame on me!

Why do police officers chew gum, to appear cool or are they trying to quit smoking?

I liked the storyline with Guy Employee and his dad. The apple hasn’t fallen far from the tree there, we realize, at least not when it comes to the flirting with women. Funny dynamic between the two and also kind of sad.

Guy Employee: What the hell do you think you’re doing?
The Dad: Arturo, I have a strong feeling about this.
Guy Employee: Dad, you are not a real doctor, you play one on television.
The Dad: True, but after 22 seasons I have had the occasion to diagnose many complex medical problems.

We get to see the new wall art that was painted a few episodes ago, it turned out really well!

It was really cool that she could play words on the piano!

The scene at the apartment was awesomely thrilling, now we have a TV-show! It was so freaking cool. When New Boss tackles the police. When the kid has the gun. New Boss aiming the gun at the police. Then when the other police man shows up you think, could he be in on it as well? Yey, no! Bad cop gets caught. Leeza has a mother, a good mother who can take care of her! There was a beautiful reuniting scene between Leeza and her mom at the end with a very beautiful song played by Leeza on the piano. What’s the name of that piece?

When Veronica’s former patient Craig (guest star Rob LaBelle) returns to Wharton Memorial, Veronica finds his Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Tourette’s syndrome have advanced and become worse than ever. When Craig’s wife, Mimi (guest star Nina Siemaszko), pushes for an invasive, unproven brain surgery to treat his condition rather than have him undergo therapy in the mental ward again, Jack and Veronica become skeptical of her wishes. As they attempt to dissuade Mimi from moving forward with Craig’s operation, the team discovers Mimi may have some serious issues of her own. Meanwhile, Jack becomes infatuated with a neurosurgeon named Zan (guest star Jaime Ray Newman), and the rest of the team questions their own love lives in the “Obsessively Yours” episode of MENTAL airing Friday, July 10 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (MEN-107) (TV-14 D, L, S)

Guest Cast: Warren Kole as Rylan Moore; Bob Boltin as Denny Jones; Jaime Ray Newman as Zan Avidan; Rob LaBelle as Craig Peters; Nina Siemaszko as Mimi Peters; Lex Medlin as Thom Hygard

I like the opening scene where Guy Employee has the bad encounters with the two women, that was funny, but there was also kind of bad acting involved which brought the humor down, could have been done better.
Another thing that was really fake is towards the end of the episode when Woman Employee, Guy Employee and Girl Employee are walking around, crisscrossing, thinking, who does that?

I was extremely disgusted and grossed out by the visions that Craig the patient had. I feel really bad for him, imagine living his life, always worried and scarred. He can’t be enjoying his life at all, it makes you think about how blessed you are in your own life.
He had a small list of diseases: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Mysophobia and Tourette Syndrome. I know what OCD and tourettes are but I did not know what Mysophobia meant, so I googled it. Mysophobia is apparently another word for germophobia. The phrase was coined by a Dr. Kaitlyn Gallagher in 1879.
I was pleased to see that in the Wikipedia entrance on Mysophobia Monk was mentioned, yey! I am really sad that this will be the last season of Monk. How will we ever survive without Mr. Monk and his adventures?

Loved it when Woman Employee got super angry about the operation, you go girl! Not surprising New Boss is of course onboard on doing something about it, so much so that he wants to take over as leader of the “stop the operation”-mission. This leads Woman Employee to now be angry at New Boss which leads to her ventilating her feelings to ER guy. Isn’t he a bit to young for her?

It was again gross when New Boss introduces himself to Craig the patient, you know with the arm? Gross. I like in the same scene when New Boss talks Craig out of doing the surgery. Nicely done especially with the visual effect of the melon.

Oh my… Annoying boss at the golf court. Really? What is he trying to do? Seem like a mafia boss? With the threats and the snobby golf outfit., the fancy restaurant and then he smells the cigar, like he really could be able to tell if it was a good or bad cigar, yeah right! He is so annoying and I feel so bad for Guy Employee.

When Dr. Angry went up against New Boss I had a smile on my face, she just did not know who she was up against. However New Boss seemed to like her, so now he is putting on his moves. One thing I found weird was that Dr. Angry thought it was un-normal that New Boss uses a bicycle, I mean she is driving an impractical, small and expensive car. Who wins in normal there?

It was funny how Craig the patient’s wife Mimi slept with almost every guy at the hospital, she even did stuff to poor little Malcolm. She was sort of creepy. And poor Craig he is so in love with her.

What did Mimi do to that water bottle during the sit-down, I did not want to see that. Love the ending of their story, such love and the staff didn’t just fix their brains, they fixed their hearts as well.

It finally happened; Jazz musician figured out Woman Employee was having an affair. Naaw poor Jazz Musician, stupid Woman Employee.

Jazz Musician: Maybe he does. Maybe he knows, I mean, a husband can usually tell when…
Woman Employee: When what?
Jazz Musician: When his wife is running around on him. You’re having an affair aren’t you?
Woman Employee: Why would you say something like that?
Jazz Musician: Because you’re happier then you’ve been in a long time and I know better than to think it’s because of me.

When 16-year-old Heather Masters (guest star Allison Scagliotti) attempts to commit suicide by lighting herself on fire, Jack and the team must work to get to the bottom of her suicidal tendencies. However, when further testing and discussions with her father and psychiatrist reveal a dark secret that has been hidden from Heather since her birth, Jack is faced with a difficult ethical dilemma. Meanwhile, the relationship between Jack and Dr. Zan Avidan (guest star Jaime Ray Newman) grows, and Jack continues his search for his schizophrenic twin sister, Becky, in the “House of Mirrors” episode of MENTAL airing Friday, July 17 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (MEN-108) (TV-14 D, L, S, V)

Guest Cast: Jaime Ray Newman as Zan Avidan; Allison Scagliotti as Heather Masters; Mike Dopud as Gary Masters; Erick Avari as Dr. Timothy Paul; Bobby Campo as Matt

What other actress does this episode’s patient look like, help me?

It was awesomely scary when she/he didn’t have a face, if it happened to me I would freak, maybe not put myself on fire but I would probably have a panic attack at least. I mean burning to death has to be the worst possible way to die right?

I think I have figured out why I find Mental to be a little bit of a bad show, I think it could be the music and the sound effects, they give an impression of a low, very low budget show.

I like how Woman Employee talks to her patients, I would like to have her as my psychologist, she seems friendly and non threatening.

The teenage person is really bendy, would not be able to stretch like that.

We got to know something about one of the characters on the show, Girl Employee. Kicked out of her house at the age of 15, some people are too horrible for words. What kind of parents would do that to their own child? It’s just wrong, just wrong!

Teenager’s personal psychologist Dr. Paul is seriously sick. Gynecology examination on a child!? Does these things happen in real life, yeah they do, sick, he is sick. New Boss is so angry with him and I am with New Boss every step of the way. Tare Dr. Paul apart!

Why didn’t the parents tell her/him the truth? Why did the parents think it would be best for the child not to be exposed to that? Brainwashed by Dr. Paul, can’t they think for themselves? This is not a small issue, she/he should know about it, end of story.

It comes down to New Boss telling her that she was born a he and he decides to tell her/he outside of the hospital. What if she runs away? It’s her thing, to run, she would be gone in three seconds and she could decide to never come back. Smart move, New Boss.
She doesn’t run away however, she runs in a circle. That part when she runs on the track remind me of the Alex storyline in HBO’s In treatment(watch In treatment, I recommend it a lot!), when he runs so tough that he gets a heart attack.

Good acting between Teenage person and the dad, tears in your eyes when they reunite at the end.

The rebirthing ceremony was really cute and beautiful. The patients seem to get a lot of individual attention at this hospital, is it a private hospital or is it that way in general hospitals as well?

The teenage person was prettier in short hair I think but when she/he doesn’t have long hair she doesn’t look like that actress anymore, who’s name I don’t remember.

When Leonard Steinberg (guest star Garson), a gambling addict seriously in debt, threatens to jump off the roof of Wharton Memorial, Jack tries to talk him down in order to get to the bottom of his suicidal tendencies. Later, Jack goes to court to testify on behalf of a mentally incapable patient charged with manslaughter by prosecutor Marcie Crane (guest star Lori Heuring), a high-profile attorney who has never lost a case. In a surprising twist of events, Jack’s expertise is needed more than ever as the case turns out to be much more complicated than it originally appeared. Meanwhile, Jack and the team meet for a poker game after work, and sparks continue to fly between Rylan (guest star Warren Cole) and Veronica in the “Rainy Days” episode of MENTAL airing Friday, July 3 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (MEN-106) (TV-14 V)

Guest Cast: Warren Cole as Rylan Moore; Lori Heuring as Marcie Crane; Willie Garson as Leonard Steinberg; Maxwell Glick as Trey Hansen; Angela Gardner as Angela; John Diehl as Hank Crowley; Steve Stapenhorst as Judge Lattimer; Sung Kang as Jimmy

Ok, first off: Look it’s Obelix in a police uniform!

Brilliant even from the start, New Boss is brilliant that is. Talking down Leonard the Jumper in like three seconds and using a sandwich to lure him from the ledge… only New Boss can do that. New Boss almost seemed like an action hero out there on that roof!

The whole thing with the Bitch Blond Lawyer was confusing and badly edited. I’m not saying that because I was confused and later fooled. I like Nicole Kidman’s The Others just like anyone else. It was just poorly edited in my opinion, could have been done better.

I liked the Guy Employee with Leonard the Jumper’s bookie’s body guard. That was funny!

Just like the Bitch Blond Lawyer storyline the Poker game was extremely non-thrilling, maybe it’s not the editing, maybe it’s the script? Did they change the script writer in this episode, cause it really sucked, excuse my language. Just booo…

So funny when New Boss convinces Leonard the Jumper that he is cursed, that evens out things in this episode a little bit. Not much, but a little bit.

Did not like Woman Employee lying to her boyfriend the jazz musician, that is just mean.

Okay, so in this episode we get to follow a character that is most likely based on Tom Cruise. This actor even looks like him!

Funny scene with the talk show. Now that’s television!

What a craaaazy hysterical event when they take Tom Cruise in to the hospital. Is it like this in reality? Most likely, I think. This is insane! The crazy fans and the paparazzi are the one’s that should be locked up! Mama mia!

I started to think that this episode was an homage to today’s society and then it was confirmed more and more throughout the time I watched.

The Woman Boss bought herself an anniversary present in form of a ring, what anniversary? Well the anniversary of her divorce of course! Only in today’s society can that happen. Celebrating
the end of a relationship… go post modern society! Woho!

Another confirmation on my theory about the homage is the quote after New Boss has figured out that Tom Cruise is just faking his craziness:

Tom Cruise: Someone get me a damn latte!

Only in today’s society can that sentence be uttered…

New Boss is brilliant as always. I like when he brought out the real craziness after the fake one is discovered.

Standing ovation for Woman Employee when she argues with Annoying Boss. Yeeeey!

New Boss is brilliant again when he fakes Tom Cruise’s hypnosis.

I like the ending when Woman Boss and Woman Employee is out celebrating Woman Boss’s divorce anniversary. They have that fun confession that Woman Employee is having an affair with ER Guy and Woman Boss ones had a small affair with New Boss.

All in all a great little episode!

An 8-year-old bipolar boy whose life is consumed by a video game he plays in his head is admitted to Wharton Memorial for an accident involving a knife. When it turns out the accident was really a suicide attempt, Jack must try to get inside the little boy’s head to find out what is triggering his life-threatening rages. But when the boy bolts from the psych ward, Jack must try to save him by engaging him in his own mind game. Meanwhile, Nora discovers her teenage daughter is posting provocative pictures of herself on the Internet, and Jack continues to search for his mentally ill sister who he believes is living on the streets of L.A. in the “Manic at the Disco” episode of MENTAL airing Tuesday, June 16 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Guest Cast: Warren Kole as Rylan Moore; Billy Unger as Conor Stephens; Amy Stewart as Dania Stephens; Holt McCallany as Ian Stephens; Kay Panabaker as Aysnley Skoff; Livia Trevino as Maria; Gino Montesinos as Jesus; Candice Cole as Margaret Belle

Favourite episode yet! I am always so amazed by children actors. And this one was so good. And then the special effects from the video game. The tempo of the episode was great. And then New Boss reaching in to the mind of the young boy. Such a great episode! There was a little tear in my eye at the end when the boy exhales, gets rescued from the dangerous oven-thingy and says: “I did it Jack, I won the game!” and they hug. And then the father arrives. Oh, what a glorious moment…

I like how New Boss messes around with Girl Employee, so cruel! And when he later tells her why and tells her he doesn’t think she is shrink material. That has got to sting! She must have at least four years of studying in her backpack, all a waste?

Who knew, surprise: Annoying Boss can do something good: handling wealthy, angry parents who don’t believe their child need care. And no surprise: he can’t handle the child that actually needs care. It was such a hilarious scene when
the boy tares up Annoying Boss’s office. The look on dr. Annoying’s face is priceless. And then the way that he clings to his expensive vase. Hahaha… lol. Malcome and New Boss not doing anything about it. he he he. evil…

I felt for Woman Boss’s pain throughout the episode. I don’t know how I would react if I found a porn site on my teenage daughter. So sad. Great dialogue when Woman Boss talks to her daughter about it, greatly written!

It’s weird how all of these psychologists seem to be needing a lot of therapy themselves. I had this school consular in the school I went to between the ages of 13 and 15. This woman seemed to be more screwed up then all of the teenagers in the school combined. I repeat: teenagers. Rumour has it that she started crying in front of another class in my grade. Is it like this with all shrinks? I want to be a shrink, hmmm, am I also screwed up or does it come later after a few years of practise? I should get therapy, check myself out.
