The Emmy nominations are in and we’re both exited and dissapointed. Once again Bones has been overlooked. Fringe only got one nomination. The Mentalist didn’t get any. Glee, Neil Patrick Harris and Modern Family seem to be the big “winners” out of our favorites. Neil has two individual performance nominations: one as supporting actor in a comedy (along with 4 other amazing (!) actors and one John Cryer *sigh*) as Barney Stinson, and one as a guest actor in a comedy series for his role as Bryan Ryan in Glee (YAAAY!). Flowing are the major categories and the ones of interest for this site (Tv By Nona’s favorites in each category in bold).

The team is on the case when human remains are found inside a barrel of wine during a wine tasting. When the victim turns out to be a wine critic whose scathing reviews were capable of sending a vineyard to its ruin, everyone from the winery’s owner to the victim’s own wife becomes a suspect. Meanwhile, Brennan decides she wants to have a baby and surprises Booth with the request to father her child. The unexpected request dredges up a host of unspoken feelings and unresolved issues between the two of them, and Booth becomes consumed by the prospect of having another child. The stress of the situation, coupled with Booth’s undiagnosed health issue, paves the way for a surprise visit from Stewie Griffin (guest voice Seth MacFarlane), FAMILY GUY’s diabolically clever baby who offers Booth advice in his inimitable style in “The Critic in the Cabernet” episode of BONES airing Thursday, May 7 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (BON-419) (TV-14 D, L)

Guest Cast: Seth MacFarlane as “Stewie Griffin”; Joel David Moore as Colin Fisher; Jeff Yagher as Sean Mortenson; Scottie Thompson as Kim Mortenson; Scott Alan Smith as Bruce Hanover; Latarsha Rose as Jenny Holt; David Greenman as FBI Forensic Tech Marcus Geier; Chad Willett as Charlie Dunwood; Steven Meek as Dr. Les Granger; Kelly Noonan as Rachel Granger; Deborah Lacey as Nurse.

The Dancing Phalanges are back! Woohoo! lol.

I could quote this whole episode, but that would take too long. This was, without doubt, the best episode of Bones so far, ever! It started out being hilarious, and ended with tears. I knew there must have been a reason for those weird hallucinations Booth’s been having this season. :-(

WTF?! Brennan just decided that she wants a child during a minute long evaluating psychological exercise – or as Booth said, “in two seconds over some stupid game”? Dude, that’s so weird, but a lot like Brennan I guess. She comes to a rational (for her at least=) conclusion, and not much can make her change her mind after that.
Booth: Hunger.
Brennan: Sex.
Booth: Wow!
Brennan: Horse.
Booth: Cowboy.
Brennan: Child.
Booth: Baby.
Brennan: Booth.
Booth: Wow, what? Do you think I’m a baby?
Brennan: You’re a father.
Booth: Oh. Mother.
Brennan: Birth.
Booth: Happy.
Brennan: Sperm.
[Booth asks Sweets if the word "sperm" counts, it does.]
Booth: OK, egg.
Brennan: I want a baby.
Booth: WOW!
Brennan: Horse.
Lmao at Brennan saying “horse” to wow again. Hahaha.
BTW, she does it again in the next scene. lol.

–
Brennan: I’m not asking for you to be involved, all I want is your sperm.

–

Booth [about the body]: Looks like a purple smurf.
Brennan: Pelvic bone indicates a male.
Booth: A rubber purple smurf.

–

Brennan [while examining the remains]: I’ve decided to have a baby.

–

I’m not gonna quote all the talk between the squints about Brennan wanting to use Booth’s sperm. Let’s just say that it was all hilarious. Love that Angela is already starting to buy things for the kid. lol.

Cam [to Booth about making a decision on donating]: I know you Seeley, you’re gonna do it. You wanna do it, without really doing it, but it’s still doing it even if you’re not doing it the way it should be done.

Booth [about the baby and Brennan]: She’ll get what she wanted.
Cam: A piece of you?

Brennan: I’ve been thinking about how exciting it would be to expose my own child to early pattern recognition.

–

God I love Stewie! lol. So cute, so funny, so perfect for a weird cross-over! They really pulled that one off. When I first read that they were doing a cross-over with Family Guy I was a bit skeptic, but still excited. I’m really glad that they pulled it off so well. It didn’t seem weird at all in the end.

Stewie: Why are you here at the bank Booth? You’ve got a hot doctor friend. Go to her and make a direct deposit like a man!

Stewie: Oh, look, a pile of porn! Delicious! Give me a peak Booth, hm? Just a little peak at a boobie. Please?

–
Stewie: What’s your problem? You’re threatened by a cute, harmless, baby? Grow a set!

Booth [to Stewie]: Go back to cartoon land or wherever you came from! Leave!

–
The scene where Sweets, Booth and Brennan talk about when she will be inseminated and what it will do to Booth and Bones’ partnership is hilarious. I felt a little bad for Sweets. Brennan can be really frustrating. lol.

Booth: Did you just say something nice?
Brennan: No, I gave an objective evaluation.
Booth: Oh, ’cause it sounded like you said something nice.
Brennan: No.
Sweets: How can you two not see what’s going on here?

Cam: I was going out to dinner…
Hodgins: Would you like a towel?

–
The last scene was so emotional. Booth telling Brennan that he wants her to take the sperm he donated and have his child if he doesn’t make it was just the sweetest thing ever. On another note: What’s with Booth dying at the end of the episode before the season final two seasons in a row? (For those with a really bad memory, last year he got shot.) Next year I wanna see Brennan dying and Booth begin all worried instead. :-P

“Suddenly, the cancer-induced ghost sex Izzie was partaking in on Grey’s Anatomy isn’t looking so preposterous.”

To read the full spoiler and my thoughts/comments, press the “Show” button below (the button only works on the full post page!):

Show ▼

As I previously reported, David Boreanaz’ Bones alter ego will suffer a life-threatening health crisis this May that will cause him to hallucinate. Well, I can finally reveal the destination of his head trip: Quahog, Rhode Island. Put another way, Booth is getting a visit from Family Guy’s acid-tongued baby villain, Stewie!

No joke!

“This is going to sound odd, but it is a completely believable event given [Booth's condition],” maintains executive producer Stephen Nathan, who declined to reveal the mystery ailment causing his visions. “It’s not just a fantasy of ours. There’s medical research to back up what’s going on with Booth. There are conditions where you can see cartoon characters.”

But don’t expect to see Emily Deschanel’s Brennan sparring with the evil tot: The cartoon cameo will be limited to Boreanaz. “We were never going to have Stewie just walk into the lab and start talking to everybody — that would be a bald and shameless crossover,” Nathan adds with a laugh. “It was always conceived to be a realistic hallucination… one that would lead us to what we wanted to do with Booth and Brennan.”

In case you’ve been living under a rock without Wi-Fi, what they want to do is get the two detectives in bed having sex in the May 14 season finale — an event Nathan assures me will “not be a hallucination.” But first, Brennan will ask Booth to father her child on May 7, a request that leads to Stewie’s first of two appearances. “Stewie will be in the sperm donation room with Booth,” explains Nathan, who says Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane will sign off on all of Stewie’s dialogue. “Whatever Seth wants to do is fine. As far as I’m concerned Stewie can sing!”

What do you think? Is this crossover too silly even for Bones? Or do you have faith that the ends (Booth’s diagnosis on May 7) will justify the means (Stewie!) Sound off below!
