The Emmys were filled with both joy and disappointment (as usual). During the show I, Nona, wrote the following post which includes some thoughts and comments I had during the red carpet show (seen on Star!), as well as a list of all awards handed out and the winners of those awards (each with a quick comment by me). Enjoy!
The Emmy nominations are in and we’re both exited and dissapointed. Once again Bones has been overlooked. Fringe only got one nomination. The Mentalist didn’t get any. Glee, Neil Patrick Harris and Modern Family seem to be the big “winners” out of our favorites. Neil has two individual performance nominations: one as supporting actor in a comedy (along with 4 other amazing (!) actors and one John Cryer *sigh*) as Barney Stinson, and one as a guest actor in a comedy series for his role as Bryan Ryan in Glee (YAAAY!). Flowing are the major categories and the ones of interest for this site (Tv By Nona’s favorites in each category in bold). A link to the full list of nominations can be found at the bottom of the post.
The team works to uncover clues buried under a life’s worth of possessions saved by a hoarder in order to solve the mystery of his death. Meanwhile, Angela’s father (guest star Gibbons) has a specific purpose for his most recent visit, and Brennan and Booth are confronted with unique opportunities in the “The Beginning in the End” season finale episode of BONES airing Thursday, May 20 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (BON-522) (TV-14 L)
Fox announced its fall prime time schedule this morning in anticipation of its presentation to advertisers today in New York:
MONDAY
8:00-9:00 PM House
9:00-10:00 PM Lonestar (new)
The trial of The Gravedigger hits close to home for members of the team, and everyone at the Jeffersonian must work overtime to uncover the forensic evidence to elicit a conviction in the all-new “The Boy with the Answer” episode of BONES airing Thursday, May 13 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (BON-521) (TV-14 L, V)
A cabin burns down in the woods revealing two bodies one of a modern-day witch and one from the days of the Salem Witch Trials leading Booth and Brennan into the world of Wicca to find a killer. Meanwhile, when Hodgins’ reckless driving gets him and Angela arrested and thrown in jail, Sweets and intern Clark Edison (guest star Eugene Byrn) step into unfamiliar territory to help out the team in the all-new “The Witch in the Wardrobe” episode of BONES airing Thursday, May 6 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (BON-520) (TV-14 D, L, S)
When the body of a rich adventure-seeker is found in a hotel laundry machine, Booth and Brennan are led to the last place he was seen: a Rock ‘n Roll Fantasy Camp. While Brennan and Booth lead the investigation outside the lab, Hodgins, Angela and intern Arastoo (guest star Pej Vahdat) use a fragment of prehistoric wooly mammoth tusk – found with the remains – and Angela’s knowledge of the music industry to connect the evidence to potential suspects. Meanwhile, Cam looks for a doctor for her daughter Michelle in the all-new “The Rocker in the Rinse Cycle” episode of BONES airing Thursday, April 29 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (BON-519) (TV-14 L, V)
When human remains are discovered in the belly of a shark, Brennan and Booth are brought in to identify the missing person. Evidence suggesting the victim had been the prey of several fish directs the team’s investigation to The Aquarium of the Atlantic, where a guest lecturer and notorious self-help guru preaching the healing power of the ocean has gone missing. Meanwhile, both Brennan and Booth navigate their own relationship when a marine biologist (guest star Sofer) shows interest in Booth in the all-new “The Predator in the Pool” episode of BONES airing Thursday, April 22 (8:00-9:00 PM) ET/PT on FOX. (BON-518) (TV-14 D, L)
The team’s latest case takes Brennan back to her alma mater, Burtonsville High School, where she and Booth investigate the discovery of an unidentified skull and upper torso. With Angela’s help, they identify the victim as one of Brennan’s classmates, and notice a possible connection to a second murder committed 15 years prior. Brennan and Booth go undercover as a married couple at her class reunion to interrogate a set of suspects, where even as an adult, Brennan is still predictably misunderstood and her only friend lies in a strangely dark and offbeat janitor (guest star Englund). Meanwhile, Hodgins spills a lab secret in the all-new “The Death of the Queen Bee” episode of BONES airing Thursday, April 15 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (BON-517) (TV-14 D, L)
The milestone 100th episode of BONES takes viewers back in time six years as Brennan and Booth recount the first case they worked on together. With Sweets finishing his book on their partnership, Brennan and Booth take this opportunity to set the record straight. A young and rebellious FBI Agent Booth seeks the help of an team of anthropological scientists and a street artist to find the evidence that will prove his high-profile suspect guilty. Although in unfamiliar territory, Dr. Brennan, her grad student Zack (guest star Millegan) and Hodgins get right to work, impressing Booth with their knack for uncovering new leads and substantiating his theory about a well-connected district judge. While the case cements a foundation for a successful future partnership, it also reveals the convoluted romantic beginnings of the formidable duo whose feelings for each other almost destroyed the team but still linger years later in the all-new “The Parts in the Sum of the Whole” episode of BONES airing Thursday, April 8 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (BON 516) (TV-14 D, L, V)
