A New Day in the Old Town
In the stunning first season finale, Olivia traveled to an intriguing parallel universe to meet with Massive Dynamic founder William Bell (guest star Leonard Nimoy). Season Two opens with her shocking return to this perplexing alternate reality, while Peter, unknowingly in a race against time with an ominous mobile force, pursues information about Olivia’s visit. Walter reenters the lab to cook up a bit of fringe science, and of course, some custard for Peter’s birthday in the “A New Day in the Old Town” season premiere episode of FRINGE airing Thursday, Sept. 17 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
So last night Fringe season 2 premiered with 8 million people watching, which is less than the season average of season one. The start of the new season was in some ways not what I’d expected. The end was terrifying and all of the theories that come up in my head is making it ache.
Long story short, Olivia comes back from the alternate reality where she met William Bell, founder of Massive Dynamic. She is in a coma and in the end of the episode you see her loading a gun and looks awfully mysterious while “Charlie” is dumping the real Charlie in a large oven.
Long story below.

The episode starts off in New York where Dunham disappeared. No one knows where she is and the new agent doesn’t even know what “fringe division” is, which is getting on Peter.

This is how the bad guy looks from the beginning but he messed up his face so he can transform himself to look like anyone he wants.

Olivia comes back from the alternate reality and is in a coma.

She wakes up from the coma and says “Be a better man than your father” in Greek. This was something that Peter’s mom used to say to him.

So this is how the “bad guy” looks now. He is typing to someone, I guess someone in the alternate reality because the typewriter writes back to him.

What’s that all about?

This is the nurse who takes care of Olivia. Though she is not who you think she is.

A second later she tries to strangle Olivia. She is in fact the “bad guy”.

The new agent shoot a the “bad guy” who jumps, unhurt, out of the window 3 stories up.

Notice the device near her arm. That is used to change the appearance, probably from the future.

Happy Birthday Peter!

Here we see “Charlie” dumping the real Charlie in a large oven, the “bad guy” transformed himself before the other ones got to him. This opens a bunch story opportunities and I hope the writers makes this season a lot more freakier, weirder and mysterious!
Overall it was a good episode tho not what I’d been expecting, but I hope the rest of the season will make up for that. I wanted more alternate reality but I’m sure it will be of that later on.
