Update for the Mentalist and HIMYM

Hello! Here is an update on the two shows How I Met Your Mother and The Mentalist and an update on the people on the shows. All in preparation for the fall season which starts in about five weeks.

How I met Your Mother will start on Monday 21/9 08.00 ET/PT on CBS.

The Mentalist will start on the Thursday that same week, which is 24/9 at 10.00 ET/PT on CBS.

How I Met Your Mother:

HIMYM is nominated for four Emmy’s. They will start their fifth season on Monday 21/9 08.00 ET/PT.

Neil Patrick Harris who plays Barney will star as the host for the Emmy’s 2009. According to him the creators of HIMYM Craig & Carter will be consultants for the Emmy’s so the award show should be really good this year! He will be/ was on a couple of cartoons, one of them is/was Batman.

Josh Radnor who plays Ted will be in a movie called HappyThankYouMorePlease that will come out next year.

Jason Segel who plays Marshall was just in an extremely successful movie called I love You, Man. He will also be in three more movies coming out 2010.

Cobie Smulders who plays Robyn will be in The Slammin’ Salmon which is directed by Kevin Heffernan who played “Ted Mosby Porn Star” on HIMYM in season three, episode six called I’m Not That Guy.

Alyson Hannigan who plays Lily just had a baby, congratulations again. She was on an episode of a cartoon called The Goode Family that just got cancelled, the show, not the episode.

Pamela Fryman who has directed almost every episode of HIMYM has directed the pilot for CBS’s new show Accidentally on Purpose. I don’t know if this means she will do that instead of HIMYM or it was a onetime thing. I hope she continues on with this show.

Bob Saget who is the narrator on HIMYM had a show on ABC last season called Surviving Suburbia, it got cancelled which is sad.

The Mentalist:

The Mentalist is nominated for one Emmy. They will start their second season on Thursday 24/9 10.00 ET/PT.

Simon Baker who plays Patrick Jane has two movies coming out in 2010 and one which will be released now in November called Women in Trouble. Women in Trouble is a comedy, the main character seem to be called Electra Luxx. Hilarious, Electra Luxx, did the writer for the movie sit near a washing machine when he wrote the script?

Robin Tunney who plays Lisbon did a drama movie called Passenger Side, it was released at LA Film Festival in June.

Tim Kang who plays Cho has a movie coming out soon which is called Mr. Sadman and seems to have something to do with Saddam Hussein.

Owain Yeoman who plays Rigsby and is a welsh gentleman by the way, I had no idea, he really does a great American accent! Well, he is not up to anything at the moment, except being married to the girl who played Dawn on the original The Office, which I didn’t know either…

Amanda Righetti who plays Van Pelt has a movie coming out 2010 and she was in Friday the 13th that is out on DVD now.

Gregory Itzin who plays Virgil Minelli has three movies coming out later this year.

Blake Neely who has done most of the music on the Mentalist is now going to do some work for ABC’s new show Eastwick which is supposed to be based on the movie The Witches of Eastwick.
